Resilient Scotland has invested in Scotland’s first not for profit funeral directors – Caledonia Cremation.
Caledonia Cremation are committed to ensure that everyone can afford a dignified funeral and prevent funeral poverty. Alongside these services, they will use a team of counsellors to help people with the overall grief process, difficult financial situations and all other challenging situations connected to this trying time.
The £60,000 Start and Grow investment will enable the business to grow by funding an awareness raising campaign and employ a social media executive.
Chris Holloway, Head of Resilient Scotland said; “Rising costs of funeral are hitting Scottish families hard, pushing one in seven people into poverty. Our investment in Caledonia Cremation, will provide families with a simple dignified choice without having to go into debt.”
