Connect Entertainment, a non-profit entertainment agency, work with highly skilled and qualified musicians, hand picking some of the best talent from Scotland’s most prestigious music schools.
Connect Entertainment, is more than an entertainment agency. The also offer they offer an event management services, with recent success in organising a Wedding Fayre at the Fort, showcasing local businesses. And interactive music workshops for adults and children with special needs. All profits are subsequently re-invested in their parent company Connect Community Trust to help tackle inequality and build skills in the local community.
The entertainment industry is competitive with 36 entertainment agencies registered in the Greater Glasgow area alone. As such to succeed Connect Entertainment have to think big and develop enterprising ideas to help them stand out from the crowd.
The investment from Resilient allowed Connect Entertainment to employ a Business Development Manager. The Business Development Manager has years of experience within the music industry. His vision and is motivation will ensure the entertainment agency continues to grow and capitalises on new enterprising ventures.
Connect also run a music apprenticeship scheme. This is aimed at existing musicians who want to turn professional. The programme isn’t aimed at developing musical skills, but is more about supporting an individual to become professional and employable e.g. financial skills, sound engineering, etc. On completion of the course, and if the musician is of a high calibre then the trainees will have the opportunity to join Connect- Entertainment’s roster. Two female singers have recently graduated from the programme are now working with Connect Entertainment and are keen to help support the next generation of trainees.
Since receiving the investment, the agency roster has grown, from just 9 acts, they now have 54 musicians, 6 DJ’s and 3 sound engineers and they continue to attract new and diverse talent, through their partnerships and connections with Glasgow Kelvin College and the Royal Conservatoire
