Resilient Scotland have invested £300k in Linwood Community Development Trust to help redevelop a 3G sports facility.
Linwood Community Development Trust was established in 2011 to preserve the recreational, cultural, social, educational and personal welfare resources of Linwood. Already significant social impact and community engagement has been achieved, but a key issue identified through extensive community consultation, was the lack of appropriate, affordable football facilities in Linwood, forcing residents to travel to train and play matches. Resilient was asked to provide £300k through Making Enterprise Happen to contribute to the redevelopment of this 3G facility and support Mossedge as a social enterprise. This is Phase one of their large community regeneration project. In the next few years, Linwood intend to develop a centre on site to contain other community assets. Phases two and three will be a theatre and café, followed in due course by conversion of a local school building as a Wellbeing Centre Phase 4.
